Coeur Noir Specialty Printers' inaugural edition, Ryan McGinness' MOTHER & CHILD, a portfolio of 12 different letterpress prints presented in a custom made linen clamshell box. 

Each print is 11 by 8.5 inches with hand deckled edges, printed on dampened Somerset Textured 300gsm 100% cotton rag. 

Each print is numbered verso and purposefully unsigned. Only the title page is numbered and signed by the artist. 

The drawings are the result of a process that started with sketches from life before the birth of McGinness' first child in 2011. A series of progressive drawings between 2011 and 2016 resulted in the 12 highly abstracted representations of the figures presented. 

All profits from the sales of the portfolios go to support Free Arts NYC, a non-profit organization that provides underserved children and families with a unique combination of educational arts and mentoring programs that help them to foster the self-confidence and resiliency needed to realize their fullest potential.
